Pakistan’s high-level delegation has landed in Tehran, Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday. The report also confirmed the presence of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in Tehran.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir went to Tehran to hold high-level talks on the resumption of negotiations between Iran and the US. The Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is also with Field Marshal Asim Munir on Iran’s visit.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi welcomed Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in Tehran. Pakistan’s high-level delegation, led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, landed in Tehran to hold talks with Iranian leaders for the continuation of peace talks between the US and Iran.
According to ISPR, the Field Marshal’s visit is part of mediation efforts between Iran and the United States.
The visit is linked to efforts to reduce tensions in the region. Pakistan is presenting itself as a key mediator. The aim is to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the US and ensure regional stability.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said messages are being exchanged with the United States through Pakistan. He added that, as part of ongoing engagements, Iran will host a Pakistani delegation today.
It is pertinent to mention that Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif is currently in Saudi Arabia and will travel to Turkey and Qatar.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif went to Saudi Arabia on the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.
US-Iran peace talks round 2
Earlier, the US President Donald Trump said that the US-Iran peace talks can resume in Islamabad in the next two days. A foreign journalist confirmed the report after talking to the US President. Donald Trump also praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his press conference at White House.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said that “we welcome Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in Iran.” During his visit to Iran, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with the Iranian delegation.
Iran’s Foreign Minister said that Pakistan and Iran are making efforts for lasting stability in the region. He also said that the relationship between Iran and Pakistan has become stronger after the peace talks in Islamabad.
