The government has officially launched a scheme to provide free Chromebooks and internet access to students across Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the government would distribute 500,000 Chromebook laptops to students nationwide over two years.
“Education is a jewel; regardless of where you are from, it will always make you distinguished in society,” he said.
"Thank you very much for your participation. You are here witnessing a great journey towards the empowerment of our youth. Our boys and girls from all over Pakistan are the true assets of our country. It is my duty and our collective responsibility to put the most modern technology and techniques in your hands so that you can become the great builders of Pakistan." ~Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif #PMYouthChromebookScheme
