The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has relocated matches scheduled in Peshawar and Abbottabad for the ongoing President’s Trophy Grade-I first-class tournament due to the prevailing political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to foreign media reports, the decision follows the government’s reported imposition of an emergency and announcement of Governor’s Rule in the province. Matches scheduled in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will go ahead as planned, with the sixth round of the tournament set to begin on Monday.
The match between Ghani and Hyderabad Kingsmen Academy, originally scheduled at Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar, will now be held at Rana Naved Academy in Sheikhupura on October 14.
Meanwhile, the fixture between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), originally scheduled in Abbottabad, has been moved to the LCCA Ground in Lahore.
The final round of the league stage will now begin on October 19. The match between Markhor IT Solutions and Pakistan Television (PTV) will also be played in Lahore.
On the points table, the State Bank of Pakistan leads with 84 points, followed by Ghani with 70 points. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will qualify for the final, while the venue for the title clash has yet to be announced.
