The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made the final announcement of match officials for the T20, Test and the ‘One-Day Tri-Series’ to be played with the participation of England against Sri Lanka.
These mega events will officially begin with T20 matches in Rawalpindi from October 9, while the series will conclude with Test matches on November 21.
Highly experienced officials at the international level have been called for the three-nation ODI series. ICC ‘Elite Panel’ match referee Jeff Crowe will perform his duties during this important series.
In the umpiring department, a panel comprising Ahsan Raza, Sharfuddoula, Asif Yaqoob, Rashid Riaz, Faisal Afridi, Nasir Hussain and Wayne Knights has been formed.
Ahsan Raza and Wayne Knights have been selected as on-field umpires for the final match of the series, while Sharfuddoula will take the chair as the third umpire. The tournament will be held from October 18 to 31 at the grounds in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
Test Series and New Debut
For fans of traditional-format cricket, the two-match Test series will begin on November 9 and continue until November 21.
In this Test series, ICC Emerging Referee Dean Cosker will make his debut as a Test referee at the Rawalpindi venue.
Alongside him, internationally renowned Rod Tucker, Adrian Holdstock and Allahuddeen Paleker will be present on the ground as on-field umpires.
T20 Series Schedule and Officials
For the shorter format of cricket, local officials have been brought forward. Ali Naqvi has been appointed match referee for the T20 matches between Pakistan and Sri Lanka scheduled for October 9, 11 and 13 in Rawalpindi. Rashid Riaz, Nasir Hussain and Faisal Afridi will perform umpiring duties alongside him.
The continuous revival of international cricket in Pakistan has established the country as a safe host on the global sports map.
