LAHORE: The outcome for the initial screening phase of bidders of two new PSL teams will be announced by the PCB on 27th of December.
The announcement will be made after evaluating which bidders meet the required financial and technical benchmarks.
The qualifiers will be advancing to an open competition bidding round. In the bidding round, final franchise fees will be determined, and the two new owners will be formally confirmed.
Fans are really amped up for the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The main reason for that is the addition of two new franchises.
This will be the major restructuring of PSL since 201,8 when the tournament added the sixth team the Multan Sultans.
Reports suggest the two front-runners for buying the two new franchises are the Inverex group and the Arif Habib group.
Two new teams mean more opportunities for the local Pakistani players. Similarly, more international players will also be able to play in the PSL due to the two new teams.
The two new franchises are also expected to spice up the franchise and give competition to the existing teams.
Till PSL 11th, you have to qualify for the knockouts, a team would have to be in tthe op 4 out of the six.
Now the teams will have to be the top 4 out of 8 teams. Hence, the competition will become double.
PSL 11th has been garnering attention internationally, too. International cricket fans have a close eye on the 11th season. As legendary players like Faf Du Plessis and Moeen Ali have opted to play PSL this season and will be skipping the Indian Premier League (IPL).
On the subject of IPL, PSL also gained attention due to legendary bowler Wasim Akram’s comments.
On a road show, he stated that PSL is not unnecessarily long like IPL. He made a sarcastic remark that by the time IPL ends, the kids have already grown up.
