The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to provide the Senate with details of the salaries and benefits of the selection committee and officials.
The PCB has also declared the list of individuals accompanying the team for the T20 World Cup as confidential; however, it has offered that if the Senate wishes, an in-camera briefing can be given.
In response to a question by Hidayatullah, the Cabinet Division informed the Senate that the Pakistan Cricket Board reviewed the requested information in detail.
According to the Cabinet Division, the salaries, benefits, and personal information of players and officials are sensitive matters, and this information relates to the protection and security of individuals within the PCB.
According to the reply, unnecessary disclosure of such information may attract attention.
The privacy of players, officials, and employees is obligatory upon the PCB, and protection will be ensured in accordance with rules, policies, and established procedures.
In another development within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), fast bowler Naseem Shah had been found guilty of breaching the terms of his central contract with the PCB and was duly punished.
The PCB claims the imposition of a fine was part of a formal disciplinary process which began the previous month.
On March 27, 2026, the PCB gave Naseem Shah a show-cause notice, alleging that a breach of contract had occurred.
Following a written response, the complaint was brought to a hearing of a selected disciplinary committee on March 30.
Despite an apology, the breach of contract was sustained in the absence of an official committee finding, thus, the PCB was left with little alternative but to impose a fine of 20 million rupees
