This development was announced by the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi who took to X and revealed that he had formally requested the Prime Minister to allow spectators in the stadium especially for the final match.

The Prime Minister had already been inclined to permit spectators in the PSL but due to nationwide austerity measures had decided not to allow fans in the stadium.

This strategy was aimed at reducing fuel consumption and curbing expenditures.

Naqvi said, “Dear cricket fans, I requested the prime minister to allow spectators in the stadiums.”

He further added that the idea was supported by Shehbaz Sharif, but he was at the same time mindful of the government’s efforts to maintain economic discipline.
