Court acquits Anmol ‘Pinky’
A Karachi court recently acquitted Anmol alias Pinky in three drug-related cases registered in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The cases were heard by the Additional District and Sessions Court South. During the hearing, Anmol’s lawyer told the court that two co-accused, Ali and Fehmida, had already been acquitted in 2024.
The lawyer said Anmol was named in the cases based on statements given by the two co-accused.
He argued that after their acquittal, there was not enough evidence to convict Anmol.
After hearing the arguments, the court acquitted Anmol in all three cases registered at Gizri Police Station.
It may be recalled that Karachi’s Garden Police arrested a woman allegedly involved in drug dealing in May.
According to Anmol’s lawyer, a drug case was registered against her in 2021. She was later declared a fugitive in the case.
The lawyer maintained that Anmol had been named in the case only on the basis of statements made by her co-accused.
