The new prices for petrol and diesel have been announced in Pakistan for August 12, 2026. The price of petrol has been decreased by Rs1.70 per litre, and the price of diesel has been increased by Rs1.39 per litre, according to the notification.
What are petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan for today?
The price of petrol has been set at Rs325.92 per litre, and the price of diesel has been set at Rs382.25 per litre. These prices have been changed for the next 24 hours.
Previously, the government had decided to keep the prices of petroleum products unchanged. This means that the price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 327.62 per litre. The price of diesel has been fixed at Rs 380.86 per litre.
Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan
Before this, on July 17, the government increased the price of petrol by Rs5.44 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs31.50 per litre for the next three days.
After the increase, petrol price was set at Rs316.15 per litre and diesel at Rs354.35 per litre.
On July 20, the price of petrol was reduced by Rs0.35 per litre. It went down to Rs315.80 per litre. However, the price of diesel increased by Rs5.71 per litre to Rs360.60 per litre.
On July 21, petrol prices went up by Rs4.93 per litre. High-speed diesel increased by Rs7.15 per litre. The new prices were Rs320.73 per litre for petrol and Rs367.21 per litre for diesel.
Petrol pumps to shut across Pakistan from August 15
Earlier today, petroleum dealers announced that they will close petrol stations across Pakistan from August 15. The announcement comes after a nationwide wheel-jam strike by goods transporters.
Speaking at a press conference, Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association Chairman Malik Khuda Bakhsh said petrol pumps will remain closed indefinitely from 6 AM on August 15.
He said the decision was made after a meeting of petroleum dealers from across the country. Khuda Bakhsh said the association has given the government a 72-hour deadline to address their demands.
