PCB suspends Sri Lanka’s player from PSL

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently banned Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka for one year from playing in the Pakistan Super League.

The decision came after a review of his contract with Lahore Qalandars and issues related to his participation in the tournament.

According to the PCB, Shanaka left the PSL on March 21, 2026, without proper approval. This was against his contract.

The board said that the reasons he gave for leaving were not acceptable under the agreement.

As a result of this decision, Dasun Shanaka will be ineligible to participate in the next season of the HBL Pakistan Super League, the twelfth edition scheduled for 2027.
