A journalist questioned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi after an Azaad Digital correspondent was allegedly attacked in Sindh.
The journalist asked Afridi why he turned away when the correspondent raised the issue and complained about the incident.
The journalist also questioned the behaviour of PTI workers accompanying the convoy, alleging that some workers fought among themselves and attempted to snatch cameras from journalists.
“Is this the training your workers receive?” the journalist asked the KP chief minister.
The incident has raised concerns over the safety of journalists covering political activities and convoys.
Earlier, the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad has condemned the alleged abduction and assault of senior journalist and executive member Shahid Qureshi by the Sarhad University faculty.
In a press release issued by the NPC, the members condemned the act of crime committed by the staff of Sarhad University and said that Shahid Qureshi was allegedly subjected to violence and detained for several hours by the faculty staff, calling for those responsible to be held accountable.
It described the incident as a serious violation of press freedom and the rights of journalists.
