A PTI worker from Kohat has raised questions about the use of money collected from the public for the party’s protest, demanding answers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Sohail Afridi.
The worker said people from Kohat, Bannu, Karak, Hangu and other districts came to the PTI long march to demand the release of Imran Khan and their rights. However, he claimed that the protesters were not provided with basic facilities.
The worker said there was no proper arrangement for food and breakfast. He added that many workers had to manage their needs on their own.

Where was the donation money spent?

The Kohat worker claimed that around Rs1.3 billion was collected from the public for protest activities.
He said ordinary people also contributed according to their ability. Some people donated Rs1,000 while others gave as much as Rs20,000.
The worker questioned how the money was being used. He demanded that party workers should be informed about the spending of the funds.
He said the donated money should only be used for the purpose for which it was collected.

Why did the worker criticise the leadership?

The worker also criticised KP CM Sohail Afridi over his absence from the protesters.
He claimed that the chief minister was not present among the workers when they were facing difficulties.
The worker said party leaders should stay with their workers during such events. He added that workers would also support the leadership if they felt that the leadership stood with them.
He also criticised Shafi Jan and claimed that proper arrangements had not been made for food and other basic needs.
The worker said he supports the struggle for Imran Khan’s release. However, he added that a protest also needs proper planning, public participation and good arrangements for workers.
He said the low number of protesters was also a concern and the party leadership should review the situation.
