The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has heightened its enforcement measures against businesses that have not registered for sales tax and those engaged in tax non-compliance throughout the province.
According to a spokesperson for the PRA on Sunday, Enforcement Officers executed operations in various cities, resulting in major fines imposed on numerous business locations and notices issued to offenders.
Actions were also initiated against businesses for reasons such as non-registration, failure to provide necessary records, and the issuance of fraudulent invoices.
Several defaulters received notices instructing them to immediately complete their sales tax registration and settle any outstanding tax obligations.
The spokesperson noted that the Chairman of the PRA has instructed officers to further speed up enforcement operations across Punjab and to maintain strict actions against tax evaders.
Additionally, the spokesperson mentioned that ongoing monitoring and data verification of various sectors are being conducted to broaden the tax base and improve compliance.
The public has also been encouraged to submit online complaints regarding food establishments and service sector businesses that fail to issue proper receipts or invoices.
