Punjab govt takes steps for welfare of farmers in Bahawalpur

The Punjab Agriculture Department has implemented various initiatives to support farmers in the Bahawalpur division, including offering fertiliser at regulated prices.

An official press release stated that the Engro Center has been launched in the division to tackle the issues faced by cotton and sugarcane farmers while providing them with technical support.

“The Engro Center’s establishment will guarantee that farmers have access to quality fertilisers at government-approved prices,” it mentioned.

Additionally, farmers across Bahawalpur are receiving technical advice on managing cotton crops, using fertilisers correctly and in balance, and practicing integrated pest management.

By following better agricultural methods, farmers can aim for a production goal of at least two bales of cotton per acre.

The press release also noted that efforts will be made to resolve the canal water shortage in cotton-growing regions.

Furthermore, information was shared about the registration process, significance, and benefits of the Kisan Card.
