Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI) Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Kharal instructed officials on Saturday to guarantee continuous access to quality healthcare for workers, saying that any negligence in medicine supply and recovery goals would be unacceptable.
During his visit to Khawaja Fareed Social Security Hospital, the Mumtazabad Basic Health Unit, and the Social Security Directorate in Multan, the commissioner assessed healthcare services, administrative operations, and service delivery standards.
He launched a new solar power system at the hospital and checked various wards and departments. Kharal also interacted with patients and their families to gather feedback on the medical services provided.
The Commissioner reviewed staff attendance, duty schedules, availability of medicines, stock levels, cleanliness, medical equipment, and the overall performance of the hospital.
He urged doctors and paramedical staff to uphold a professional and respectful demeanor towards workers.
At the Mumtazabad Basic Health Unit, he stressed the need for better cleanliness, discipline, and healthcare delivery standards.
Later, while evaluating the performance of Social Security offices in Multan and Muzaffargarh, Kharal looked into the progress of social security contributions, Workers Welfare Fund recoveries, the Maryam Nawaz Rashan Card program, and the registration of new workers.
He stated that the welfare of workers and the timely delivery of services are a top priority, in accordance with the vision of the Punjab Chief Minister.
He also instructed officials to quickly resolve workers’ issues related to ration cards and meet all recovery targets, reiterating a strict no-tolerance stance on negligence.
