The Punjab police has announced new jobs for the post of Intelligence Officer (IO).
The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced 30 vacancies for Intelligence Officers in the Special Branch of Punjab Police, with applications due by 26 October 2026.
The posts are in Basic Scale 14 (BS-14) and will be offered on an initial two-year contract, which may be extended, according to details published under PPSC Advertisement No. 11/2026.
Successful candidates may be posted anywhere in Punjab.
Who can apply?
Applicants must hold a second-division bachelor’s degree from a university recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), along with basic computer knowledge.
Alternatively, graduates with five years of experience in the Intelligence Wing of a law-enforcement agency may qualify under the advertised criteria. Only experience gained after obtaining the required qualification will be considered.
Applicants must also meet the commission’s age and domicile requirements.
The general age range for male and female candidates is 21 to 35 years before relaxation. Male candidates are eligible for a five-year general age relaxation, taking the upper limit to 40, while female candidates receive an eight-year relaxation, extending the upper limit to 43.
For transgender applicants, age and gender will be determined according to the information recorded on their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).
Written test, syllabus
PPSC will conduct a multiple-choice written examination carrying 100 marks, with a duration of 90 minutes.
About 80% of the paper will cover general ability subjects, including general knowledge, Pakistan Studies, current affairs, geography, basic mathematics, English, Urdu, everyday science and Islamic Studies.
Non-Muslim candidates will receive general knowledge questions in place of Islamic Studies.
The remaining 20% of the examination will cover basic computer studies.
