Punjab’s Health and Emergency Services Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that efforts are underway to provide the best emergency services to the public, under the vision of Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
He mentioned that the operational capabilities of Rescue 1122 are being improved throughout the province.
He shared these insights during a visit to the Rescue 1122 Headquarters on Friday, where he assessed the department’s readiness for the upcoming flood season.
During the visit, Secretary of the Emergency Services Department, Dr. Rizwan Naseer, provided a comprehensive briefing on flood preparedness, mock drills, and rescue operations. The provincial minister learned about the measures taken to effectively handle any flood-related emergencies.

It was also noted that the availability of life jackets, jet skis, and aluminum rescue boats for potential flood rescue operations is being reviewed.
Khawaja Salman Rafique added that Rescue 1122 is being equipped with modern resources to boost its emergency response capabilities.
