The government of Qatar has opened a free 30-day tourist visa application for all foreigners, including Pakistanis.
Pakistani citizens can obtain a free tourist visa on arrival in Qatar for stays of up to 30 days, provided they meet the country’s entry requirements.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MOI), eligible travellers must have a valid Pakistani passport, a confirmed return ticket, a hotel reservation through the official Discover Qatar website and health insurance from an accredited provider.
Travellers have been advised to complete the necessary arrangements before departure to avoid delays at the airport.
Who can apply?
The facility is available to Pakistani nationals visiting Qatar for tourism who meet the immigration requirements.
The main conditions include:
· A valid Pakistani passport.
· A confirmed return flight ticket.
· A hotel booking made through Discover Qatar.
· Health insurance from an approved provider.
The passport validity requirement differs between official guidance pages: one specifies at least three months, while another requires six months. Travellers are advised to have at least six months of validity remaining and confirm the latest requirements before travelling.
Additional requirements listed in Qatar’s Pakistani-specific immigration guidance include proof of financial resources of QAR 5,000, or an accepted credit card arrangement, and a polio vaccination certificate for travellers arriving directly from Pakistan.
How to book a hotel in Qatar?
Pakistani travellers must arrange their accommodation through the official Discover Qatar website.
According to the guidance, reservations made through other booking platforms do not qualify under this particular visa-on-arrival arrangement.
Travellers should select accommodation for their intended dates, complete the reservation and keep the confirmation available for inspection.
The permitted length of stay may depend on the hotel booking and cannot exceed 30 days.
Visitors must also obtain health insurance from an accredited provider.
Guidance from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs identifies a one-month insurance policy costing QAR 50 and lists Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) and QLM as possible providers.
Travellers should check the latest premiums and approved insurance providers before purchasing a policy.
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior describes the 30-day visa-on-arrival facility as free for eligible Pakistani citizens.
However, travellers must still pay for accommodation, insurance, return flights and other personal expenses.
How to get the visa on arrival at Doha airport
According to guidance published by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, travellers can follow these steps after arriving at Hamad International Airport:
1. Complete the arrangements: Ensure the hotel booking, insurance, return ticket and other required documents are ready before departure.
2. Visit the Discover Qatar desk: Approach the designated desk at the airport before proceeding to immigration.
3. Present the documents: Show the hotel reservation and other required travel documents for verification.
4. Proceed to immigration: After the document checks, go to the immigration counter for processing, which may include biometric verification.
5. Receive an entry decision: Immigration authorities will assess eligibility and decide whether to grant entry.
Meeting the requirements does not automatically guarantee admission to Qatar.
Qatar’s Pakistani-specific immigration guidance lists a polio vaccination certificate as a requirement for travellers arriving directly from Pakistan.
Although this condition is not included in the separate four-point summary of the free visa facility, travellers departing directly from Pakistan should arrange the certificate and confirm the latest requirements with their airline or Qatari authorities before travelling.
Pakistani visitors are advised to check official immigration guidance before departure, as entry conditions and documentation requirements may change.
