Banned JAAC’s provocative agenda behind Rawalakot violence exposed

Police in Rawalakot have pledged to take stringent measures against armed miscreants, alleging that they were subjected to coordinated attacks by armed miscreants across the city.

In a press conference, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police SSP Khawar Ali Shaukat informed that no leniency would be shown to the perpetrators of the violence.

He said that it was reported that gunmen attacked policemen and security forces from their occupied buildings in various parts of the city.

The police spokesperson said the criminals took over several buildings and started firing on police personnel, while police and Rangers were attacked from within their barricades at multiple places for the last two days.

SSP Khawar Ali added that the banned Awami Action Committee had posed itself as a people-friendly organisation, but it is not a peaceful organisation, but an armed organisation that’s trying to organise against the state institutions.
