RAWALPINDI: As a planned protest marches toward Islamabad, the Rawalpindi police have beefed up security across the city to avoid any unfortunate incident.
As per details, the City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani headed a high-level meeting with top police officers to oversee the law and order situation in the city ahead of the TLP protest.
CPO Rawalpindi that the authorities will not tolerate any road blockades, disruptions to traffic, or violent activities under the banner of protest.
He stated that any acts disrupting normal public life, damaging property, or attacking law enforcement agencies will be treated strictly.
“Those who violate the law will be dealt with strictly,” the CPO warned and added, “Attacks on citizens’ properties or law enforcement agencies will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
In a separate development, the Islamabad administration has placed containers at the Faizabad Interchange, however the roads are not blocked yet.
It is pertinent to mention here that traffic on all routes between Islamabad and Rawalpindi flowing as per routine. The decision to close roads will be made after the authorities assess the situation.
