Pakistani podcast host and journalist Rehan Tariq has introduced a new venue in the era of the modern podcast by shooting his latest episode in the graveyard (Qabristan).
He is under strong criticism on social media after filming an episode of his podcast inside a graveyard.
Rehan Tariq, commonly known as RTS with Rehan Tariq, shared footage and images showing a podcast setup among graves.
According to a report by Reviewit, the yet-to-be-released episode is expected to explore events and beliefs associated with cemeteries, including subjects such as black magic and alleged miracles.
The footage has prompted a strong reaction online, with some users questioning the decision to record a podcast in a cemetery and raising concerns about respect for the dead.
One commenter described the decision as insensitive, while another questioned why Tariq had chosen a graveyard when other locations were available. Other comments included jokes and references to Pakistan’s political history, while some users said that filming a podcast among graves was inappropriate.

The criticism has so far largely centred on the location and subject matter of the recording. It is not clear from the available footage whether the cemetery’s management or the families of those buried there had raised any objections.
Rehan Tariq has remained in a controversy over his interview with Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi.
In July, he was arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) after returning to Pakistan from abroad in connection with a podcast featuring religious scholar Syed Jawad Naqvi. The case involved allegations under provisions of Pakistan’s cybercrime and penal laws.
A court later granted Tariq post-arrest bail against surety bonds of Rs100,000.
The latest graveyard recording has yet to be released in full, meaning it remains unclear what conclusions, if any, Tariq’s upcoming episode will draw about the phenomena discussed.
