NADRA issues new guidelines for applicants of Juvenile Card

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued new guidelines for parents applying for Juvenile Cards for their children.

As per the new guidance released by the department, the child must be present during the application process for the Juvenile Card.

The Juvenile Card is a smart identity document issued to Pakistani children under the age of 18.

NADRA has advised parents to check their child’s age and ensure that all required documents and information are available before submitting an application.

Fees, processing times

According to the guidelines, applicants can choose between three service categories.

  • Normal: Rs750, with the card issued within 31 days
  • Urgent: Rs1,500, with processing completed within 23 days
  • Executive: Rs2,500, with the card issued within nine days

The facility is available through NADRA registration centres as well as the PakID mobile application.

NADRA applies different identification requirements depending on the child’s age. These can include variations in photographic and biometric requirements for younger children.

Additional information may be incorporated into the child’s identity record as they grow older.

NADRA has therefore advised parents to confirm the applicable requirements for their child’s age before applying.

The authority says following the prescribed requirements can help parents avoid delays or complications during the application process.
