Several female students suffered minor injuries when scooters collided during a road safety awareness rally on scooter in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
The incident took place on Friday, 2 October, during a rally organised by the University of Agriculture Faisalabad in collaboration with the City Traffic Police.
The event was aimed at promoting road safety, encouraging women to follow traffic rules and supporting greater independence for female commuters.
The programme began with a seminar at the university, where traffic officials spoke to female students and other participants about safe riding, traffic regulations and responsible driving.
After the seminar, participants rode scooters from the university along Jail Road before returning to the campus.
During the ride, some of the scooters collided, causing several students to fall. They sustained minor injuries, according to reports.
The incident comes as two-wheelers become increasingly common among women travelling to educational institutions and workplaces.
Traffic officials used the event to encourage riders to wear appropriate safety equipment, follow traffic regulations and remain cautious while riding in groups.
Road accidents remain a significant concern in Punjab, particularly among motorcycle users.
According to Rescue 1122 figures, Faisalabad recorded 2,838 road accidents involving 3,096 motorcycles in May 2026.
Authorities have continued to promote road safety awareness campaigns, with officials stressing the importance of following traffic rules and adopting safer riding practices.
