Revised Eid-ul-Azha holiday schedule announced in Sindh

Eidul Azha 2026 expected holidays

The Government of Sindh has issued a new notification regarding Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

According to the notification, the Eid holidays have been reduced from four days to three days. Public holidays across the province will now be observed on May 26, 27, and 28.

During the holidays, all government offices, autonomous bodies and semi-autonomous institutions will remain closed. However, departments providing essential services will continue operations throughout the holiday period.

The notification further stated that all government offices will reopen on Friday, May 29.

Eid ul Azha 2026 holiday schedule revised by Lahore High Court

The Lahore High Court has revised its Eid ul Azha 2026 holiday schedule for courts across Punjab and extended the holidays by one more day, according to the reports today.

According to a new notification issued on May 21, courts will now remain closed from May 26 to May 28 for Eid- ul-Azha holidays. Earlier, the holidays were announced only for May 27 and May 28.

The updated schedule will apply to the principal seat of the Lahore High Court as well as its benches in Bahawalpur, Multan, and Rawalpindi. In addition to this, civil and sessions courts across Punjab will also have the revised holidays.

The notification stated that the decision was approved by the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court. It also partially changes an earlier notification issued on December 23, 2025.

Eid-ul-Azha holidays announced in Punjab

The Punjab government has announced three public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha 2026 across the province earlier today.

According to an official notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department in Lahore, public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha 2026 will be observed from May 26 to May 28.

During these days, all government offices and public institutions in Punjab will remain closed for the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has also announced public holidays for Eid-ul-Azha in the province.

Earlier, the federal government approved Eid-ul-Azha holidays 2026 across Pakistan from May 26 to May 28.

Meanwhile, the Central Ruet e Hilal Committee had announced that Eid ul Azha 2026 would be celebrated in Pakistan after the Zil hajj moon was sighted on May 27.

The announcement was made at the Meteorological Department office in Karachi after a meeting; the zonal and district Ruet e Hilal committees in other cities of Pakistan were also holding simultaneous meetings.

In the meantime, markets for cattle are extremely busy in the country in preparation for Eid ul Azha.
