The Pakistan side delivered an impressive reply to the first innings 311 run tally of the West Indies at the Brian Lara Stadium and after an unbeaten 88 by Shan Masood. Pakistan finished the day at 199 runs for 3 wickets.
West Indies continued at 194-3 lead at the start of the second day and Pakistan bowlers attacked them, most impressive was Mohammad Ali, taking 4 wickets for 50 runs.
Khurram Shahzad struck early to dismiss Kavem Hodge for 84, while Mohammad Ali removed Justin Greaves, Roston Chase, Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seales.
After over five hours at the crease, Shai Hope went to the pavilion at 92 runs, eight runs short of a century.
Pakistan’s batting faced a big blow early when debutant Azan Awais got bowled out by Kemar Roach.
However, Masood and Imam-ul-Haq struck up a terrific 155-run second wicket partnership, due to which the visitors became firmly in control.

Imam scored seven fours to contribute a fluent 63 from 102 balls while Masood was confident and scored 88 with 11 fours in his unbeaten knock in 137 deliveries.

Speaking after the day’s play, Imam said his approach was to leave the ball well and wait for scoring opportunities, a strategy that paid off during his valuable innings.
The West Indies counterattack came in the last phase of the day with Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seales.
Joseph brought an end to Imam’s innings and Seales sent Babar Azam packing just before the day ended due to bad light conditions.
Shan Masood also had close calls, a catch of him was dropped in the slips and he also managed to overturn a leg-before wicket decision with DRS.
Masood’s partnership with Salman Ali Agha withstood the pressure at stumps with Pakistan still trailing by 112 runs.
Currently, the Pakistani team seeks to put pressure on the West Indies team.
