Pakistan’s bowling coach Shaun Tait has expressed confidence in the national team’s bowling attack ahead of the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, saying the team’s fast bowlers performed impressively during the practice match.
Speaking to PCB Digital, Tait said assessing players’ performances outside international series was a valuable experience from a coaching perspective. He noted that the practice match provided an opportunity to assess several new players, adding that all the fast bowlers delivered excellent spells.
Tait acknowledged that Sri Lanka has a strong batting lineup for the Test series but expressed full confidence in Pakistan’s bowling attack. Shaun Tait has expressed satisfaction with the team’s performances in the ODI tri-series, praising the bowling attack for its impressive contributions in victories over Sri Lanka and England at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan began the tri-series with a 37-run victory over Sri Lanka before securing an 87-run win against England, with Tait highlighting the team’s overall bowling performance. Tait said Pakistan’s fast bowlers needed to bring more excitement and aggression to their bowling, adding that the team had enough talent and firepower to intimidate opposition batting lineups.
He also praised the balance between Pakistan’s pace attack and spin department, noting that both units complemented each other effectively and played an important role in the team’s success. The bowling coach particularly praised young all-rounder Arafat Minhas for carrying his domestic performances and PSL confidence into international cricket. He said the youngster had made valuable contributions with both bat and ball, demonstrating his potential at the international level.
