Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has finally responded to the criticism after his marriage to Sana Javed.

In an Instagram post, the former Pakistani cricket team captain has said, “I’ve always sought to keep my private life private, out of respect for my family. However, my silence seems to have been taken for granted.”

He started the long message by claiming that he and Sania Mirza got divorced in early 2023, and after that, he married Sana.

It is pertinent to mention that the divorce between Sania and Shoaib was only confirmed after his third marriage to Sana. However, at the time, it was said that they had been divorced for a few months.

In his post, Malik added that “Since my second marriage, people have attempted to tarnish my reputation by linking me to individuals I’ve never met. Unverified stories about my personal life have been written without my permission. People have targeted my wife with negative remarks for the things she was never involved in, and that’s unacceptable for me.”

Recently, some media reports claimed that he is getting married for the fourth time.

Hence, responding to these rumours, he “urged everyone to refrain from spreading misinformation about his personal life, or anyone’s”.

He also requested that “his son is now at an age where he’ll be reading these false and fabricated stories, spread for views for mere pennies of earnings, these lame accusations are causing distress to those whom he cares about.”

Shoaib Malik has also warned the social media accounts responsible for spreading rumours that “Failure to do so will result in strict legal action from my team against individuals and firms.”

Before Sana Javed, Malik was married to Indian former tennis player Sania Mirza for over a decade. His first wife was Ayesha Siddique.
