An anti-terrorism court has issued arrest warrants for Sohail Afridi and four other accused in the May 9 Radio Pakistan attack and arson case.

The court ordered authorities to arrest all five accused and produce them before the court at the next hearing.

Special Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Wali Muhammad Khan heard the case, during which the public prosecutor submitted the police challan. Advocate Ali Zaman appeared before the court on behalf of the accused.

During the hearing, defence counsel Ali Zaman requested additional time to prepare the case and urged the court to adjourn the proceedings.

The prosecution informed the court that the police challan had been submitted and arrest warrants had been issued against the accused. The court subsequently ordered their arrest and directed authorities to present them at the next hearing.

According to the prosecution, protesters stormed the Radio Pakistan building on May 9 and set it on fire, causing damage to public and private property.

Following the incident, a case was registered against more than 80 accused, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers and workers.

The prosecution said Sohail Afridi and four other accused were subsequently nominated in the case following a complaint filed by Radio Pakistan.

The court adjourned further proceedings after issuing the arrest warrants. The allegations against the accused remain subject to adjudication by the court.

Police submitted a supplementary challan against Sohail Afridi, former provincial ministers Taimur Jhagra and Kamran Bangash, PTI leader Irfan Saleem, and Aamir Khan.

According to the court order, ATC No. 3 Judge Wali Muhammad Khan issued arrest warrants for all five accused under Section 204 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) as they had not been arrested.

The court adjourned further proceedings until November 24, 2026. Shabbir Hussain Gigyani represented Radio Pakistan in the case.
