During the meeting, officials conducted a detailed review of traffic arrangements around mosques, parks, public places, markets and cattle markets in Islamabad.
The Chief Traffic Officer directed authorities to make full use of Safe City cameras to ensure effective traffic management across the federal capital, while zonal officers will remain present in the field during the Eid holidays.
Muhammad Sarfraz Virk said all duty points must ensure smooth and effective traffic flow to provide citizens with safe travel facilities during Eid.
He further warned that one wheeling, reckless behaviour and dangerous driving would not be tolerated under any circumstances and that strict action would be taken against violators.

Driving licence system becomes completely paperless
In another development, Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has taken a major step to modernise the licensing system by making the Islamabad Traffic Police licensing process completely paperless.
IG Islamabad formally inaugurated the paperless licensing system. Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk and other traffic officials were also present on the occasion.
The IG reviewed all paperless counters and issued directives regarding the new system. Speaking at the event, he said the initiative has been introduced to facilitate citizens and save their valuable time.
Previously, applicants had to fill out medical forms, attach photographs, and submit multiple documents. Now, citizens no longer need to bring any documents, photocopies, or photos.
He further stated that the entire process from medical examination to licence issuance has now been made fully paperless. He appreciated the Chief Traffic Officer and his team for completing the project in a short period of time.
The IG also announced that the licensing fee system will soon be digitised. Citizens will now only need to bring their national identity card to obtain a driving licence from Islamabad Traffic Police.
