Big update regarding summer vacations

Rana Sikandar Hayat, the education minister of Punjab has announced that the schedule for the summer vacations in schools will be implemented when the approval has been given by the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Rana Sikandar Hayat, Punjab’s education minister also clarified a circulating news about the Friday holiday in schools.

He said that the Friday holiday is not permanent and soon the educational institutions will return to their regular schedules.

 The Friday holiday was given in a temporary basis according to his statement. The holiday is not being made part of the permanent system.

According to him in the coming weeks the holiday of Friday will be abolished completely. He also said that soon schools will again start operating to traditional working hours.

He also revealed that the Punjab government is in contact with the federal government regarding this matter.

Regarding the summer vacation Rana Sikandar Hayat clarified that the final decision about schedule and duration of the holidays will be made after May 15.

Any decision taken will only be implemented when the Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz approves it.    

The Punjab provincial government has revised its decision regarding the weekly Friday holiday, opting for a partial work schedule instead of a complete closure.

According to the latest notification, government offices across the province will remain partially open, with essential staff required to attend duties on Fridays.

Earlier, a full holiday had been announced as part of austerity measures aimed at reducing expenses.

However, the Economic Monitoring Committee advised against a complete shutdown.

Members highlighted that consecutive holidays on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday could lead to increased public travel, ultimately raising fuel consumption.

Taking these concerns into account, the committee approved a revised plan, allowing limited office operations on Fridays to balance cost-saving efforts with economic activity.
