NEW YORK: Time Magazine declares ‘Architects of AI’ as Person of the Year on Thursday. The magazine featured the US Tech Titans who were transforming humanity with state-of-the-art artificial intelligence.
NVIDIA: Jensen Huang, OpenAI: Sam Altman, and xAI: Elon Musk were given recognition.
Time said that AI has changed the world to a great extent. It has a major impact on our livelihoods and has entirely transformed the information space.
The illustration in the magazine was of some prominent individuals who were sitting high above New York City. This featured Mark Zuckerberg of Meta and Lisa Su of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
Others that were photographed included Google Demis Hassabis and Dario Amodei of Anthropic.
Time admitted that these major personalities are investing billions of dollars in various infrastructures. It added that AI has become the most competitive tool since nuclear arms.
The number of people who use ChatGPT has more than twice this year.
Nevertheless, Time also indicated the dark side of AI. Suicides and mental health crises are claimed to have originated from chatbots.
This has created a controversial psychotic disorder in the chatbot. Moreover, job displacement is at its peak because firms are competing against each other to replace employees with AI models.
On the other hand, Thomas Hudson of Forrester praised the choice. He claimed that AI would be the gravitational center of the economy in 2025.
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, referred to AI as the most significant technology of our era. He predicted that AI would expand the world economy by a considerable amount.
