Here is the list of the top 10 leading universities in Pakistan, as the higher education sector of Pakistan includes a number of universities with strong records in research, science, engineering, business and other academic disciplines.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) maintains a national university-ranking framework, while international organisations such as QS publish separate global rankings based on their own methodologies.
HEC resumed its national ranking exercise in 2023 after an eight-year gap.
Based on the institutions highlighted in national and international rankings, here are 10 prominent universities in Pakistan:
1. Quaid-i-Azam University: Islamabad
