Donald Trump has called for a major expansion of the Abraham Accords, urging several Muslim-majority countries to join the agreement as part of broader diplomatic efforts in the Middle East.

In a lengthy post on social media, Trump said negotiations involving Iran were “proceeding nicely” and stressed that any potential deal should either result in a “great agreement for all” or no agreement at all, warning of a return to heightened conflict if talks fail.

He also said he held discussions with several regional leaders, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain, and suggested that these countries should simultaneously sign onto the Abraham Accords framework.

Trump argued that expanding the accords would strengthen peace, stability and economic cooperation in the region. He described the existing agreements as having delivered strong financial and social benefits for participating countries.

In his post, he emphasised that Saudi Arabia and Qatar should take the lead in joining the accords, while suggesting that other countries could follow. He also indicated openness to Iran joining the framework if a separate agreement is reached.

The Abraham Accords, first signed in 2020, normalised relations between Israel and several Arab states and were presented by Trump as a foundation for broader regional integration.

Trump further stated that expanding the accords would help establish long-term peace and economic strength in the Middle East, describing the initiative as a historic opportunity for regional unity.
