Kidnapped VC Gwadar University Recovered along with other staff after 11 days

Abdul Razzaq Sabir, the Vice-Chancellor of University of Gwadar, has been safely recovered along with three of his colleagues, according to family sources.

The family said the vice-chancellor, two professors, and their driver were recovered safely. However, they have not yet returned home.

Armed men abducted Professor Abdul Razzaq Sabir and his colleagues from Mastung on May 13.

Earlier in the day, a powerful blast near the Chaman Phatak railway track in Quetta killed at least 16 people and injured several others.

Police officials said the explosion happened near a moving train on the railway track and started a fire in the nearby area soon after the blast.

The blast was so powerful that people heard it in far-off areas, while the windows and glass panes of nearby buildings shattered.

Railway authorities stopped the Jaffar Express, which was travelling to Peshawar, at Quetta railway station after the incident.

Authorities also declared an emergency in major hospitals in Quetta. Doctors and medical staff treated the injured, while rescue teams shifted more than 20 injured people to Civil Sandeman Hospital.

Shahid Rind confirmed the death toll and said three FC personnel were among the martyrs. He added that women and children were also injured and were receiving medical treatment.
