“Koun Log ho Tussi”, Wasim Akram lashes out at Indian media

Wasim Akram reprimands Indian media for showing him as a spy

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan cricket team captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram lashed out at the Indian media for using his photo in a news report about the arrest of another man named Wasim Akram.

In a post on social media, Akram said, “Here’s some free advice for everyone, — if you see another person named Wasim Akram on social media, please double-check before believing anything.”

He claimed that a man named Wasim Akram had been arrested in a neighbouring country on charges of spying for Pakistan, and some Indian news channels had mistakenly aired his (the cricketer’s) photo.

In a sarcastic tone, Akram said in Punjabi, “Koun log ho tussi? Kithon aaye ho? Koi check nahi, koi balance nahi! You just jump into comments without even checking if it’s my account or not!”

He further added, “Don’t stress yourselves for no reason. Relax, and verify before reacting.”

It is worth mentioning that police in the Indian state of Haryana recently arrested a YouTuber with a similar name as the legendary cricketer on charges of allegedly spying for Pakistan.
