Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Iran is ready for war if the US want to test it. Araghchi’s statement came after US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with military action.
In an interview with an international media outlet, Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Iran believes in communication, adding that all channels of communication are open amid current political stability in the country.
Abbas Araghchi also emphasised that Iran, at the same time, is prepared for war as well. He further added that his country has a large and wide-ranging military readiness as compared to last year’s 12-day war.
Donald Trump, who recently ordered the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, stated that US authorities were organising a meeting with Tehran to talk about the nuclear programme, adding that “but we may have to act because of what is happening before the meeting”.
“If Washington wants to test the military option it has tested before, we are ready for it,” said Araghchi, adding that he hoped the US would choose “the wise option” of dialogue, while warning of “those trying to drag Washington into war in order to serve Israel’s interests”.
