We are ready to talk, says the Afghan Taliban

KABUL: While addressing the graduation ceremony at the Kabul Police Academy, the interim Afghan Taliban regime’s interior minister, Sirajuddin Haqqani, said that our country is not a threat to any state.

Our Government is ready to settle matters with neighbouring countries, and we are ready to talk.

According to the media reports, Haqqani said that the doors for negotiations are always open.

He said that his Government stands firm with the Doha Agreement, not allowing anyone to use Afghan soil against any country.

He assured that the Taliban leadership is trying its best to find ways in order to maintain relationships with the neighbouring countries. And also, to end misunderstandings and mistrust of the international community.

Haqqani didn’t directly mention the name of Pakistan, but also addressed the Pakistan demand for taking action against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for using Afghan soil.

The relation between the two countries is quite disturbed right now, due to the border clashes, which led to the closure of the borders since October 11, 2025.

Recently, meetings for negotiations were held in Istanbul in October between the two states, but were not successful.

Although Afghanistan has made a pact by presenting the Doha Agreement that it will not allow anyone to use Afghan soil for any evil means, border skirmishes and attacks by Afghan militants continue in Pakistan.
