Lahore remained under the grip of intense heat today as strong sunshine pushed temperatures higher across the city, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said.
The current temperature was recorded at 34°C, while the mercury is expected to climb to 42°C during the day, with a minimum temperature of 32°C. Humidity stands at 52 per cent, and winds are blowing at 11 km/h.
According to the weather department, hot and humid conditions will persist throughout the day under partly cloudy skies, with no rainfall expected. Residents have been advised to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions against the heat.
The PMD has, however, forecast the arrival of monsoon rains from July 1, which are expected to provide much-needed relief from the ongoing hot weather. Citizens have been urged to keep track of the latest weather updates.
