The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast, predicting hot and humid conditions in most plain areas of the country, while rain is expected in several regions.
According to the weather outlook for Saturday night, most plain areas will remain hot and humid. However, a few places in Gilgit-Baltistan, lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southeastern Sindh may receive rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
On Sunday, most plain areas are expected to remain hot and humid. However, during the evening and night, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is likely at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, the Potohar region and southeastern Sindh.
During this period, southeastern parts of Sindh may also experience thunderstorms, heavy rainfall and hailstorms at isolated locations.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, partly cloudy weather is expected, with strong winds and thunderstorms bringing rain during the evening and night.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to experience hot and humid weather. However, during the evening and night, rain and hailstorms accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms are expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Kohat, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand and Khyber.
In Punjab, most districts will remain hot and humid. However, during the evening and night, isolated rain accompanied by strong winds, dust storms and thunderstorms is expected in Murree, the Galiyat region, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Lahore, Sialkot, Khushab, Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan and adjoining areas.
Most districts of Sindh will also remain hot and humid. In southeastern areas, partly cloudy conditions are expected, while Tharparkar, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Thatta and adjoining areas may receive rain accompanied by strong winds, dust storms and thunderstorms during the evening and night. Heavy rainfall and hailstorms are also expected at a few places.
Most districts of Balochistan will remain hot and humid, while coastal areas are expected to remain partly cloudy. However, Zhob, Musa Khel and Barkhan may receive rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms during the afternoon.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are expected to remain partly cloudy, with rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms likely at isolated places during the evening and night.
During the past 24 hours, most plain areas of the country remained hot and humid. However, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, the Potohar region, including Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan experienced rain accompanied by strong winds, dust storms and thunderstorms.
The highest temperatures recorded today were 43°C in Nokundi, Sibi and Dalbandin, while Chhor recorded 42°C.
