LAHORE: The Punjab government has officially announced the new winter school timings for all government and private schools in the province.
According to a notification issued by the education department, the new schedule has come into immediate effect and will continue till March 31, 2026.
Under the new schedule, boys’ schools will open from 8:45 am to 2:45 pm from Monday to Thursday, while classes will end at 12:30 pm on Friday.
The working hours in single-shift girls’ schools will be from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and classes will end at 12:15 pm on Friday.
The first shift in double-shift boys’ schools will be from 8:45 am to 12:45 pm on Monday to Thursday and until 12:30 pm on Friday.
The second shift will run from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, while it will end at 2:00 PM on Fridays.
The morning shift in dual-shift girls’ schools will be from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Mondays to Thursdays and 12:15 PM on Fridays.
The afternoon shift will run from 12:45 PM to 4:45 PM on weekdays and 1:45 PM to 4:45 PM on Fridays.
The government has said that this change has been made to facilitate the education system according to the season and to maintain continuity in educational activities during the winter season.
All schools have been directed to strictly follow the new schedule so that consistency and productivity are maintained in teaching hours.
