Hyderabad Police has formed a special women-only police unit, named the “Nisa Squad,” to provide assistance to women in need during emergencies and strengthen security across the city.
As part of the squad’s launch, women police officers conducted their first motorcycle patrol across Hyderabad. Senior police officers also participated in the patrol.
The flag march of the Nisa Squad began from Nursery Chowk on Auto Bhan Road, where women police personnel were seen patrolling the city streets on motorcycles. Media crews recorded footage of the women officers conducting the patrol at various locations.
The police personnel patrolled different areas along Auto Bhan Road and other public places as part of the squad’s initial deployment.
The Nisa Squad comprises 50 women police officers, who will carry out motorcycle patrols and security checks at various public locations, including Auto Bhan Road.
SSP Hyderabad Shahzaib Chachar said the initiative would ensure a swift police response to sensitive cases involving women and suspicious activities. He said the squad would play an important role in providing assistance to women who require police support during emergencies.
The squad will operate under the command of SHO Women Sakina Bhatti and will be supervised by SP Zain Raza Baloch and ASP Dr Warzan Ali.
According to police officials, the primary objective of the Nisa Squad is to provide a safer environment for citizens, particularly women. Security measures will be strengthened at markets, shopping areas, parks and other public places through regular patrols and monitoring.
The launch of the women-led motorcycle patrol is aimed at improving police accessibility and ensuring a more effective response to security concerns involving women across Hyderabad.
