YouTube introduces new features for its users in the category of Shorts. From now on, YouTube users can upload around ten pictures in a short video with 15 seconds of background music, the private media outlet reported on Friday.
Similarly, YouTube users can add text to their uploaded pictures in Shorts.
For music, the users can use the licensed music catalogue, YouTube Audio Library, and dream tracks where available.
According to YouTube, the new feature will help creators visualise their stories in an enhanced way. At the same time, the updated feature will also be helpful for singers and musicians.
This update brings YouTube Shorts closer to Instagram and TikTok, where image-based carousels and photo posts are already quite popular. Instagram has long offered the ability to create carousel posts with music, while TikTok has also introduced photo posts as an alternative format to short-form videos.
The company also said that this new feature will help those content creators who share their content on different social media platforms at the same time.

According to reports, the video-sharing platform is introducing a cleaner layout that reorganises key controls and information displayed on video pages. The update is intended to reduce visual clutter and make commonly used features easier to access.
Under the new design, the comments section will appear more prominently beneath videos, allowing users to engage with discussions more quickly.
