According to a private TV news channel, the All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance and the government have reached an initial agreement on several issues on Tuesday.
According to the reports, the two sides have agreed in principle not to increase toll taxes for one year. They have also decided to reduce the recent increase in toll taxes.

Transporters also said that an agreement has been reached on not increasing petroleum prices for one week or 15 days.
A statement on the talks between Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and the transporters has also been issued.
According to the statement, the decisions reached during the two-day talks have been finalised.
The government has tried to provide maximum relief in view of the current situation in the country.
Federal Maritime Affairs Minister Junaid Anwar also gave assurances to the goods transporters through a video link during the meeting.
According to the statement, senior ministry officials also assured the transporters regarding the pricing of petroleum products.
Earlier, Goods Transport Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan had said that talks with the government had not been successful.
He said that the government must take serious steps to end the deadlock. He added that the transporters had not closed the door to talks, but clear progress on their demands was needed.
Sindh approves toll tax on Mehran Highway
Recently, the Sindh Cabinet has approved a toll tax for heavy and commercial vehicles using the 135-kilometre Mehran Highway.
The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah.
The new toll will only apply to heavy and commercial vehicles. Private passenger vehicles will not have to pay the toll.
The cabinet was told that the Mehran Highway is being upgraded into a dual carriageway under a project worth Rs41 billion.
