Lawyer Jibran Nasir has claimed on Tuesday that Mir Raza was exposed to acid. He said that this damaged the body.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Jibran Nasir said Mir Raza was alive until the evening of July 28. He said the kidnappers tortured him for 12 hours before killing him.
He said acid was thrown on Mir Raza. He also feared that acid may have been forced into his body.
The lawyer said the killers knew where there were no cameras and where to pick up Mir Raza. He said they also knew where and how to leave his body.
Jibran Nasir questioned how it could be accepted that Mir Raza emptied his own account or that his mobile phone was hacked.
He said Mir Raza’s smartwatch was requested on the day of his soyem. Adding that SSP Samiullah Soomro kept walking around with important evidence in his pocket for 8 days.
The lawyer said Section 201 was added to the FIR. This section relates to destroying evidence.
He also said an officer was included in the investigation team who was in Kashmir two weeks before the murder.
The officer has still not returned. Jibran Nasir questioned how the officer was supposed to investigate the case from Kashmir.
Jibran Nasir further called for departmental action against police officers at Gulistan-e-Johar police station for ignoring evidence.
Mir Raza case new team
Recently, a new four-member investigation team has been formed to investigate the death of young businessman Mir Raza. The action was taken after his parents expressed a lack of confidence in the previous team.
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho said that the new team will be headed by DIG Crime Branch Amir Farooqi. SSP CTD Irfan Bahadur, SP Investigation Korangi Qais Khan and SP Investigation Central Anam are also part of the team.
