The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the recruitment schedule for 23 permanent Inspector (BS-16) positions in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, with applications open until August 31, 2026.
The vacancies have been announced under the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control, which oversees the Islamabad Police. Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications before the deadline to be considered for the recruitment process.
Candidates must possess a second-class or Grade-C Master’s degree, BS or Bachelor’s degree from a university recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Applicants must be aged between 20 and 28 years, with a general upper-age relaxation of five years.
The physical eligibility criteria require male candidates to be at least 5 feet 7 inches tall, while female candidates must have a minimum height of 5 feet 2 inches. Male applicants must have a chest measurement of 33 to 34.5 inches. Candidates must also meet the prescribed eyesight requirement of 6/6, with near vision not below J-1.
For the physical test, male candidates must complete a 1.6-kilometre run within seven minutes, while female candidates must complete the same distance within 10 minutes. Physical measurements and tests will be conducted after the ICT Police Department refers eligible candidates to the FPSC.
Of the 23 vacancies, one post is reserved on merit, five for Islamabad, nine for Punjab, two for Sindh Rural, one for Sindh Urban, two for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, one for Balochistan, one for former FATA and one for Azad Kashmir.
All candidates selected for the Inspector positions will be posted in Islamabad.
Earlier, the Government of Pakistan launched a new programme with the United Nations, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) that can help to create better job opportunities.
The programme will support 20,000 people who are working in the health and care sector. This programme will help them improve their skills, find better jobs and access social protection.
Phases of the programme
The first phase of the programme will run from July 2026 to July 2027. During this period, the focus will be on improving the skills of 20,000 health and care workers.
