A proposal is under consideration to provide citizens with passport-related facilities at NADRA Registration Centres so as to ensure the fast, transparent, and effective issuance of passports.
According to details, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Director General Immigration and Passports Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa, which was attended by senior officers of NADRA and the Passport Department.
The meeting reviewed the ongoing technical measures aimed at modernising passport services and improving operational efficiency.
The DG IP and NADRA considered important proposals to further strengthen the integration of identity card and passport data.

In this regard, progress on providing secure “read-only access” to the national database, as well as the exchange of real-time information and data synchronisation through NADRA’s Event Management System, was reviewed.
In view of public convenience, the meeting also discussed the possibility of providing passport facilities at NADRA Registration Centres themselves.

Under this plan, consideration is being given to installing passport application submission and processing modules at selected NRCs.
The meeting emphasised the establishment of a comprehensive framework to provide citizens with secure, integrated, and technology-based passport services.
The authorities reiterated their commitment that, through mutual cooperation between the two institutions, the fast, transparent, and effective provision of secure, integrated, and technology-based passport services to citizens would be ensured.
