Where can Pakistanis move easily in 2026? Check 5 visas here

Pakistanis looking to move abroad and start a new life may want to consider five countries that have emerged as some of the most attractive destinations for expatriates in 2026.

According to a survey by global research project InterNations, Panama, Mexico, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Brazil ranked among the top destinations for people seeking a better life overseas.

The ranking assessed 31 countries based on factors including cost of living, quality of life, ease of settling in, employment, income, safety and social environment.

Panama

Panama topped the ranking for the third consecutive year. Around 87% of expatriates surveyed said they were satisfied with their lives there, while 90% found it easy to find accommodation.

Expats highlighted Panama’s relaxed lifestyle, relatively affordable living costs, reliable internet, convenient banking and manageable utility expenses as some of its key advantages.

Mexico

Mexico ranked second overall and topped the list for ease of settling in. Around 73% of expats said making local friends was easy.

Lower everyday expenses and a strong sense of community were among the factors attracting foreign residents. However, Mexico ranked lower for safety, coming 25th among the 31 countries surveyed.

Thailand

Thailand secured third place and recorded the highest score for expat happiness. Around 86% of respondents said they were satisfied with their lives in the country, while its relatively low cost of living was another major attraction.

Expats also praised Thailand for maintaining its cultural identity alongside modern development. Respecting local traditions and social norms was highlighted as important for newcomers hoping to integrate into society.

United Arab Emirates

The UAE ranked fourth and remained a popular destination among expatriates, particularly because of its stability, security and expat-friendly environment.

Foreign residents highlighted the country’s efficient systems and relatively comfortable lifestyle. Some also praised cities such as Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah for offering modern amenities while providing opportunities for a more relaxed family life.

Brazil

Brazil entered the top five for the first time, ranking fifth overall. It scored particularly well for happiness, friendliness, local culture and the welcoming nature of its people.

Expats living in Brazil said the warmth of local communities helped them feel accepted and develop a strong sense of belonging.

The survey suggests that for people planning to move abroad in 2026, a high salary is not the only factor. Affordable living, friendly locals, ease of finding accommodation, healthcare, digital services, security and opportunities to integrate into society can all influence the decision.
