The Punjab authorities have decided to monitor the MDCAT 2026 examination centres strictly via central cameras and arrangements have been made in 15 major cities of Punjab.
The decision has been made to ensure transparency, improve security and maintain strict surveillance during the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026.
The details say that the Punjab Safe Cities Authority will help in the surveillance of examination centres throughout the province through its central surveillance system.
A formal letter has also been sent to the authority about CCTV cameras and other monitoring equipment to be used during the examination.
An online feed from cameras set up at examination centres will be provided, and a dedicated monitoring centre and access to the surveillance system will be provided.
The unit will be continually observing the security arrangements and other activities at the centres during the examination.
The monitoring is designed to avoid any irregularities in the examination and to make it fully transparent, secure and organised.
The live camera feeds will enable officials to keep an eye on the activities at various centres and act on any security concerns, if necessary.
MDCAT 2026 is scheduled to take place on 20th Sept, 2026 throughout Punjab. Examination centres are set up in 15 major cities to cater to candidates from various parts of the province.
The cities where MDCAT examination centres have been set up include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Gujrat and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Other examination centres have been set up in Sahiwal, Layyah, Bahawalnagar, Mianwali and Rahim Yar Khan.
The authorities are keen on providing a level playing field by taking adequate security measures and surveillance for the students appearing for the examination, which is considered to be very competitive, with thousands of students going for the test.
Central camera and live monitoring are likely to ensure more effective monitoring of examination centres and prompt action in the event of any unpleasant event or examination rules violation.
The special monitoring arrangements are part of the wider plans to ensure the smooth and transparent running of MDCAT 2026 in Punjab.
