If you have a motorcycle, rickshaw, or 800cc car, you will be eligible to get petrol Rs100 cheaper per litre in Pakistan.
People with two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles will get a relief of Rs100 per litre on a monthly quota of 20 litres, while those owning small vehicles of up to 800cc will get a relief of Rs100 per litre for a monthly quota of 30 litres.
If you are eligible, then all you have to do is send a text first.
Follow these steps:
- Citizens seeking to register their vehicle must send an SMS containing “REG” followed by their CNIC number to 9771. The SMS must be sent from the mobile number registered in the applicant’s own name.
- The registration message must also include the vehicle number, provincial code, and registration date.
- After successful registration, eligible citizens can obtain a fuel token by sending “TOK” to 9771. The fuel token can then be shown at participating petrol stations to receive petrol at the subsidised rate.
The relief was announced by Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz earlier today, and this relief will start from the coming week.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said, “The government is fully aware of the burden being placed on the public due to the increase in oil prices. In this hour of difficulty, we will not leave the public alone.”
The scheme will begin in Islamabad from the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
The current price of petrol in Pakistan is Rs 375.82 per litre.
