Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, the Paris 2024 Olympic champion, was unable to replicate his record-breaking form this season. Nadeem won Olympic gold with a stunning 92.97-metre throw in Paris, but his season-best effort this year stands at 81.49 metres, leaving him without a medal.

He once again managed 79.66 metres in his third attempt, matching his season-best distance. However, the performance was not enough to keep him in medal contention. Despite producing his season-best throw, Arshad Nadeem was unable to secure a medal at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship 2026.

It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem had failed to defend his Commonwealth Games javelin throw title, dropping out of medal contention after the opening round.
A total of 12 athletes competed in the javelin throw final. Nadeem’s first attempt was ruled a foul, while his second throw of 77.41 metres briefly placed him in fifth position. However, as other competitors improved their distances, Nadeem slipped down the standings and was unable to secure a place among the top eight.
Nadeem recorded a throw of 75.39 metres on his third attempt, but it was not enough to advance to the next stage. Under the competition rules, only the top eight athletes after the first three rounds qualify for three additional attempts. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Ramesh Tharanga claimed the top spot with a magnificent throw of 89.75 metres, while India’s Neeraj Chopra finished second with a season-best effort of 85.83 metres.
